Weird things seen While hunting!!
Hey guys
I know we all travel many miles during the hunting season what are some of the cool, neat, odd things you have seen over the years.
For me coolest place ever Boyd’s Garage in Orion could spend hours checking his old shop. Sadly it burnt down just after our hunt.
Second has to be this crazy house south of Irvine Alberta never seen a house built out of Straw bales.

I was looking for this, used to be on Vimeo and couldn't find it so thanks for posting. I find it funny how well Boyd is known on this forum, and yes a shame that his old shop burnt down, i remember buying a chocolate bar there and the best before date was 5 or 6 years passed due haha. the posters and calenders on the walls had most of my attention though back then.

I was hunting and went in an area that was poor walking with many obstacles. Turned a corner and ended up looking into about 4-500 pot plants that were 4' tall with full irrigation going on.

Probably 12 years ago we went hunting up by slave lake for moose. We toured many "winter roads that were nicely frozen. Not much snow as it was a bit early in the year; were driving along and all of the sudden it looked like we were in the middle of the nastiest swamp I had saw at that time. Lots of nice clear ice on top. I said to my companions well I'm sure glad this is froze good. We turn a corner and saw something out of place, we get up closer and it's an old aluminum canoe in the middle of the swamp all bent and twisted up.
We all had a pretty good laugh, and were very thankful the swamp was froze so well.

Long ago and far away -
well, in the West Kootenay, I went Elk hunting with a buddy who had a Dodge Power Wagon with a 10 ton PTO winch mounted.
We had information from a friend building a pioneering logging road into a new area, that there was a spectacular Bull Elk hanging around while the Cat was working.
Driving in Friday night after work, it was raining pretty hard, and we got The Power Wagon bogged frame deep in a mudhole, created by runoff in a dip where there was no culvert yet. I mean really bogged, crawl out the windows bogged, because the doors were down in the mud. Deciding that there was nothing useful we could do in the dark, we crawled into the Alaskan camper for a bit of sleep, stripping off our muddy clothes on the floor, and sacked out.
At dawn, we got the winch cable out, and tried to get ourselves out of the sticky stuff, and now we had mud up to our eyeballs, and even into our hair. Tried to get a bit of lift with the cable by building a crib under the cable with broken logs, but all that happened was the popping of 5/8 Blue Strand cable like it was a straw.
We had to walk out, and get Howie to walk the D8 up to where we were stuck, get a chain under the rear frame of the Power Wagon and over the blade of the Cat, getting a lift out of the mud, and drag us out of the bog hole.
When we were all done and picking up the chain, a guy in a 2WD pickup with fancy rims and big wide squishy tires drives back to the bush side of the mudhole, and we shout across to him that we'll send Howie, the D8 and chain through the mess to get him out.
Funny thing,
He had his Girlfriend with him, and a double mattress in the back of the pickup under the canopy - he decided he really didn't require help, and went back to his hunt.
We always wondered whether he succeeded in his quest.

Boyd’s shop was something to behold. I was there in November of ‘16 just before it burnt down that December. Pretty sad day.
Cats...oh man...if there was 1 there was 40 in that shop...lol.

I lived in GP in the early 90's and heard rumors of a few large outdoor "farms"
