Default Camp Wainwright

Hey All. Dad and i drew moose tags for camp wainwright in December. I was wondering if people ever camp up around there? We have a trailer that we would like to be able to stay in.. just need to know of any areas we can park on. We leave no garbage and are quiet. Any tips on this front? Are there any campgrounds open in December? We have never done the Wainwright hunt and it will be a new experience for us.

Here’s the thread from last year. Should have all the info you need.

FYI I recommend zone buffalo 2 at wainwright for moose.

Good luck.

Default Wainwright

Interesting post on this hunt on the timing.

My hunting partner just informed that due to his wife's illness he will not be able to hunt the base. He was looking forward to this hunt as he has never been there before. So I will be hunting alone. ( which is fine be me)

I am wondering if you are allowed to bring a person along for the ride, and company. He would not be hunting, just tagging along. And hopefully skinning.

Is this allowed? If so, I am sure he would have to fill out all off the releases etc.

I am hunting the 2nd rifle hunt. Its not my first time as I have been on the base for 5 previous hunts.

Any body else going at this time? Perhaps we can meet in the evening for beverages?

Yeah......there is a password protected .pdf file on that link. If you don't have the password by now, you're not invited

Ill be there the week of Dec 9, cow moose. Looking forward to it... but really not sure what to expect as we have not done this hunt before. I think we had 3-4 years priority saved up.
