I remember reading about one of these operations back in field and stream or outdoor life maybe in the late 90's. One that I've always remembered was somebody that shot like 8 or 9 times, and as they were pulling him out of the vehicle, he was asking if he got it.

That's the one that stood out most for me too, also because the number of times he had his arm pointed out past the muzzle.

The muzzleloader was by far the best one in my opinion. Reloading that front stuffer in the truck is priceless !!!

Ya, pretty bad, wives and kids.
The last guys shooting from the road, so no tag for a fake deer I guess ?
Or out of season maybe, didn't see them shoot out of a vehicle.
Some places could have a proximity from a roadway rule I guess.

Don't you have to be at least 20ft off a Rd to shoot here?

And they get plenty of takers.

We have nothing to be proud of here. Especially with the number of people who defend this illegal practice on these very forums.

This is the one that gets me . Do they figure that it must be their lucky day , cause even after they shoot it/at it , it doesn't take off ,and they have enough time to reload ( and not even in a hurry ) .

Then there's the whole safety issue , from doing all this from inside a small truck .

And yes , it looks like a high quality Father and son bonding experience , maybe Uncle and nephew .

Good thing we don't have any of this kind here in Alberta

Default Decoys

Yep, our COs use decoys...They have a really nice bull elk they like to deploy in the park on highway 40 to Grande Cache, they have also used a moose decoy around here as well. There was a particular old FN gentleman that loved to shoot it full of holes with his old lever gun. Much to the dismay of the officers running the sting...

Thats how everyman and his dog hunts in 502. Not kinding everytime a vehicle drives by I hide for cover.! Starts in September with 3 rezs in the aera that drive the county for moose or deer. Then nov 1st comes and its just the same but nicer trucks, shooting out the window on county roads in to privet fenced land... ive been scoped on my own land countless times, shots fired in my direction on my own land , deer shot infornt of me on my own land. And all I get is a report nothing done......etc I wish they would set up arobo deer on my field to get the crazyz thats are going to end up killing someone oneday. If any ones knows how to get intouch with the robo department let me know lol

I was wondering about the guys that got out of thier truck as well. Don't know what the laws are where this was filmed (minnesota?), but here in AB I think that would have been legal on a lot of roads.
I have only ever heard of an Elk decoy being used here in AB, but I imagine they have Moose and Deer also.

I hear ya. Lots of that in in 503, 504, 509 as well. Was bowhunting last fall for Elk. Had a 6 point bull coming across a big cut oat field to a stand of timber I was in. White "native" road warrior spots bull from the road and mows it down with rifle. I was too far away to see for sure but I'm sure shot was made from inside truck.

I have seen a whitetail decoy being used by barrhead part of the province, have to be after dark or half dumb to not notice it's a decoy. I stopped... rolled down the window... Stuck out my video camera and took a short video, will see if I can find it. Alll I could think about is how excited the CO's must have been when they saw my window roll down. It was about a 140-150 buck and taxidermy looked ok, but it's movement was just so unnatural was a instant giveaway for us.

I once asked a CO why they don't use it in my area.
He said that they need complaints of shooting from the road first.
Sure would be fun to see some truck poachers get caught.
