Bet Talbot is looking pretty good right about now.
Looking at both rittich and Talbots stats he’s still superior to both.

Ok so I did see that right, I just turned the channel from watching the Flames win, and just caught that. Did a double take and thought I had missed something. Looks like that summed up your game.

Look out Draft Lottery, here come the Soilers. Their soft schedule is over.

Stats are for losers. You need a goalie that can single handedly win a game for you every now and then. Not sure the oilers have one right now.

DERP !!!! I’m sure that’s what every NHL scout and GM looks for. That goalie that can win you the odd game.

Would it have made a difference? Still a goal from center ice.

The title on this thread needs to be amended by deleting the word. “Playoff”

Agreed.

I gotta think he's battling an injury of some sort, but at the very least, it's fatigue. His physical and MENTAL game has really gone down hill the last few games. He's reverting to his play from a couple years ago, kinda lazy and selfish. How many times is he gonna skate the puck up from his own end, then turn it over at the other blueline because there's 2 or 3 guys on him and he tries to skate through them and/or force a bad pass when it's too late? Even worse, he follows way too many of those turnovers with a lazy back check.

He needs to re-find the game that had him in the Hart Trophy talk for the first three months of the season.

On a more general note, the Oilers' puck luck seems to have deserted them lately. They're hitting goal posts, getting bad deflections, inexplicably mishandling pucks, it's bizarre... They're less than inches away from running up big scores on teams, and then losing close games. They were outshooting CAR 8-0 in the 3rd and absolutely dominating - one bad break and it's 4-3. They made OTT look like an AHL team for the entire first period and had almost countless scoring chances, only 1 went in. They need to find that finish again and start capitalizing on the stretches where they play dominant hockey. I get that you make your own luck, but it would sure be nice if things started to bounce their way a bit again like they were at the start of the season.

Substitute a few names and you would be talking about the Flames first part of the season. Now we are finally getting some puck luck, and a bit of a roll. I don't know what it is about these two teams, but seems when one is hot the other struggles. Then flip back and forth. Will say if they stay this close in the standings, it will make the game on the 27th way more fun.
To bad I won't see it, as on Vacation but will be looking for the recap.

Kosk has been the reason for more Oiler wins than rittich has been the reason for the flames.
Yes the flames have more depth up front than oil.
That very reason...^ and the standings today points out that goaltending was a bigger factor of where the teams are sitting today.
Quite simply, goaltending we’ve had this year is the biggest reason the oil are where they are right now.

Interesting stat on CHED tonight, the OILERS 32 games in are only 2 games better than last year at this point. In Dec 2018, they completely messed the bed and the year spiraled completely into the toilet bowl...Just a thought

Dri has most certainly not been himself lately not sure what it is. I am noticing that he gets a lot more attention from the other team than he used to and kinda think he is dealing with guys hanging closer and closing on him faster than what he’s used to. Kinda a victim off his own success. If your gonna lead the league in points ( and yes I know he’s 2nd now ) then your gonna have to learn to play with guys on you. This in turn becomes more taxing on your body. Needs to keep it simple for a while. Leon is a highly intelligent and competitive player I’m sure he will snap out of it soon.

You two need to meet up in Red Deer and have a good old fashion thumb wrestle to determine who has the thinner skin...

Funny how this is turning out. A few weeks ago we were almost the best in the league. Now it’s looking like years past. Tipp needs to wake up. Smith is not that good. Way overrated

I don't give Nurse props often, but that was a good tilt. For sure took that one.
