Just saw the videos of this. Absolutely terrifying.

Made me immediately think of Halifax. Hope and pray it's nowhere near as destructive.

Looks like an ANFO explosion. If so there will be major casualties.

One of the reports claims that it was a storage facility for confiscated explosives.

One of the news reports said it was a warehouse containing “firecrackers”.

Apparently Marc and Craig Keilburger were in Beirut to see about doing "a project", maybe to restore faith in WE Charity? Or to distract from it? They had invited Trudeau and Morneau along, but they declined after seeing the duffel bag with duct tape and det cord. I read it on Rebel Media, it has to be true....

Sure looks like a fireworks storage or manufacturing facility. You can see the fireworks going off at this angle.
The devastation of the explosion is mind boggling, I feel sorry for the people there.

Exclamation Grain dust explosion

According to Google maps, the big building near the burning fireworks is the "Beirut Port Silos". Which would explain the exponential increase in size when the walls of the silo were breached by the initial explosion.
Disaster analysis specialists will be studying this footage for years.

That is some amazing footage. It certainly does look like fireworks going off before the huge explosion. That is a very big explosion located in a heavily populated area, my condolences to all affected by this.

No need for conspiracy theories

Sodium nitrate is the explosive used in fireworks.

Building was on fire.

Once it gets to 530 oC it explodes.

Smoke is that orangey brown colour.

This is another third world, safety failure tragedy.

So, the Kielburger and Morneau weren't involved? I find that hard to believe. WE think it was a set-up.

That seems to be what is being most reported. Storage of explosives confiscated from a ship in the Mediterranean.
Some have surmised fireworks, some U.S. intelligence saying explosives bound for one of the many Middle East hotspots.
Either way it was a huge amount.
