Default CWD testing wait time?

Head was dropped off Nov 2nd...no test results back yet.
Curious how long others have waited.

Mine was submitted on Nov 8 and I got my negative results emailed to me Nov 22. I only submitted the necessary tissues so maybe that sped things up.

Government website says samples submitted in latter half of November or later likely won’t see results until January or February. They’re processing about 2500/week of the season.

I really think it makes a difference where you drop them off! Dropped two off at Cabela's north Edmonton in early November this year. Results were back within two weeks.
When they are dropped off in more rural areas I don't think they are collected nearly as regularly.

Dropped my mule deer head off at the taxidermist on Nov 5 so he would have dropped it off within a couple days of that and I received my negative results back yesterday.

With all of the sup tags this year suspect any heads submitted late Nov could very well push well into the new year.

I submitted on Nov 4. Happened to get lucky as they were doing a pick up when I was there. It was 10 or 12 days later. I have had as late as end of February.

Dropped off in Red Deer last year - got results in Feb. Tried Camrose this year - no results yet. Maybe next year it will be worth driving to Edmonton.

Dropped mine at Cabelas in Calgary Nov 22, got negative result today so just a little over 2 weeks.
Faster than I was expecting by the volume of heads in that freezer.

Mine was a cow moose head.....no idea if that makes a difference or not.
In years past it didnt.
Dropped off in the Hat....there were only 4 other heads in there at the time so when they collect who knows.
Have been very few positive moose over the years so.....

Guys at deer camp dropped their heads off at Cabelas Southwest Edmonton on November 11th and had results within two weeks. Said the dropoff station was about half full. The Calgary Cabelas was full two days later - perhaps southern Alberta is processing more skulls right now?

I got results back in October after 2 weeks from an archery whitetail. Still waiting on results for the deer harvested in november. My usual wait times have always taken 2 months minimum and there was one in the past I never got results back for.

Wow that’s some terrible luck, my group had a bad year a couple years ago with 3 positive cases, my mule buck and 2 mule does. What zone was that in if you don’t mind me asking? Just kinda curious because I know the positivity rate is getting pretty bad out where I hunt (202) and saw a lack of mature bucks this year so I’m wondering if cwd is taking its toll.

I sent my mule deer head in oct 25, I have yet to get my results. Very similar to last year. Last year when an individual contacted Margo she reported that the results were sent to me and to look in my junk mail. I looked everywhere and the results were never sent to me. I have checked my junk mail many of times since Oct and still to no avail. I made sure my email was correct on relm. If they are going to make it mandatory to submit these heads then they need to do a better job of getting the hunters results. It should be there responsibly to ensure the Hunter receives the results just like they expect the hunter to legally submit the heads.

Got result back today.
Negative.
Talking to someone involved with head pickup here in the Hat and the heads from here go to Lethbridge....then onto Edmonton.
Sorta explains longer wait.

Submitted my whitetail tissues in Edmonton cabelas on November 6th and haven’t heard anything back yet. Anyone else experiencing this? I know they said the later in Nov you submitted the longer it would take but this seems a bit long for early November submittal.
