Default Finnwolf $379 Precision Guns Lethbridge

Sorry I could not get this posted in the gun section, mods please move.
Anyway here is my favourite gun with the Lyman site, extra clip and fast mount scope. I’m originally from northern Ontario and my mom bought this for my father in 1975 from Lethbridge. I wonder when this store closed?
Anyway I thought it was pretty cool my dad still had the original box and this gun is back in AB.

Very interesting and a good find indeed.
I've lived in Lethbridge my entire life (45 years) and don't remember Precision Guns and Sports, however that is the same address of Marksman Guns and Sports which has been in operation since 1984 according to the website. It has been Marksman for as long as I can remember.

With the names being so similar, I wonder if Precision was an early iteration of Marksman, possibly consisting of a partnership that has merged into what it is today.

Got me wondering, I'll ask around if I remember. Going to a meeting at the range next week with some people who would most certainly know.

Precision Guns and Sport was owned by a gentleman that also owned Universal Sound audio store in Lethbridge at the same time if my recollection is correct. The stores went into receivership and closed in early 1984. Store reopened under current/new ownership August 1,1984 under the Marksman Guns and Sports name.

grail gun

I don't know why but I have a bizarre fondness for this style of lever gun. My wife shoots an M88 in 308 and I got a classic BLR in 243 so we can match sometimes or she can switch hit. I've been dreaming of getting one (or two!) of these Finnwolfs for years, but never seen quite the right one and the price is usually a thousand too high for me and I'm ready to pay a lot.

Thanks for sharing your memories and these pictures of this beautifully crafted, rare, and unusually designed rifle.

Fine looking rifle. Quite difficult to find them in pristine condition.

It's a classic for sure. I remember going into Precision as a teen prior to 1984, I grew up in the area, and then after going into Marksman and buying an older Remington 788 in .308 there in the late 80s or early 90s. It was a good store.

And that rifle you have is a beauty for sure, very cool to have the original box for it from your dad.

Will you take $380???

I'm taking depreciation into consideration here...

Jokes aside, that's a gorgeous gun.
