Quite the start
Had quite the start for my son this year, he turned 12 September 19th and would of loved to have him bow hunting but just couldn’t get to 40 lbs. He did get a ruff with his bow and a couple sharpies with the .410. At the end of October we got on a big herd of elk, there were a couple nice bulls in there . After waiting them out for a couple hours and making a few different stalks a bull gave him a perfect broadside shot at about 130 yards and he made a great shot... Bull down!!!! After 13 years I drew my first bull moose tag and partnered my boy, we hunted hard for a few weeks before we ran into a bull that gave him an opportunity. Made 2 good shots and we had our first moose on the ground To end it off a couple days later we found a buck Ruttin hard , snuck into 80 yards and a bullet through the heart ended his season. Not a bad southern buck, especially his first haha. First year in a long time I’ve never filled a tag but was definitely my best hunting year I’ve ever had !!!! Won’t ever forget it

That's nothing shy of Awesome!!
Good on you for getting him out & fulfilling a lifetime of memories at a young age. Great season & congrats!
I've had my son out since he was 6 months old, he turns six next Saturday, been on multiple kills & species.
Can't wait for that moment!
That's what hunting is all about, congrats & thanks for sharing

First year with my boy too. He shot a nice buck and missed a bull elk (twice) at 258 yards. Insert Facepalm haha but that’s life with 12 year olds
Congrats dad! That’s the best season you could imagine for a first year. I say well done!

Congrats to your son on a spectacular first year!
I had a great season hunting with my kids too, it was my son's first year hunting big game as well.

Two things, that's absolutely awesome! Memories forever. That will be a hunting season that's not soon forgotten. My two boy got their first deer last year (but at 14 & 16)
Second thing is I need to step up my "Dad Game" after seeing what's in your freezer!
