Out of the 75 I've taken so far this winter, he is for sure the biggest. I bet he has dined on a few fawns in his day. Glad to take him out of business.

Big coyote you got. I have been close to a 45lb dog it was 43.5 my best and it looked like a beast when I got up to it.

I just caught one ata sheep farm this morning. They killed a sheep last night and ate the whole thing I caught him on his way out must be well over 50 pounds. It is the fatest coyote out of a 150 this year.

Ya it was. His belly is so round I would not be surprised if he's carrying 10or more pounds of sheep meat

A buddy called in and shot a legitimate (weighed) 50.5 lbs coyote about 6-7 years ago, biggest Alberta coyote I have ever seen.

Just weighted him. Didn't have a scale so I used a house scale weighted myself with and with out the coyote 52.9 pounds. I'm sure that's not perfect but close weight.

Wonder what would be the best criteria for sizeing a Coyote? Weight? Length? Skull size?

I finally got a scale in the garage and all I can say is my second biggest this year is 38 pounds. I will compare the size of the pelts when I get them both side by side.

Default big yotes!

I got a massive one a few weeks ago and could have sworn he was 60 lbs plus.... I took the old bathroom scale out to the skinning shack and to my surprise he weighed in at 42.2 lbs. i should have taken a measurement from tip to tail cause he was a giant!

I called in and shot a male coyote a few years ago that I later weighed on my digital fish scale at 47.5 lbs! I have also confirmed the accuracy of this scale by weighing a turkey while I was in save on foods butcher isle ( much to my wife's dismay)!

This seems to be the year of the big male dog. I never bothered weighing any but I've had several heavy ones that took the whole length of the board and then some......+6' from nose to tip of the tail. With about an inch of fat on the November ones 50 lbs wouldn't surprise me.

50 is huge! Got this male a few years ago that was right around 45lbs. Got him tanned and he looks like a wolf hanging on the wall.

Petty hard to put this one into perspective but the middle coyote was BIG! That's an adult male behind him. I caught him in November and he had about an inch of fat right down his back. I kind of wish that I had have weighed him now.

while hunting tournmaents, i've seen many, many coyotes wieghed.
an average MN,ND,MT,SD female will be about 27-30 lbs. males will be 30-33lbs.

biggest i;ve seen was 43# and he had a full belly.
its a humbeling thing when someone brings in a "for sure" 50lb'er only to weigh it and find out its a 37-40

this is the biggest i've ever shot. did not scale him but he was BIG!!.
the other coyote was a bit bigger than an average male.

Isn't that the truth , kinda like everyones 200" mule deer and 170" whitetail , all look big til you tape em . That is indeed a big dog you have there . I've also taken a number of em that are over 45#s but it takes a real big one , with a belly full to top 50 .

None taken and your right, they are not comparable. Before I shipped my coyotes that year I lined them all up and this one was noticably bigger then the rest. Biggest Ive ever taken thats for sure.

Nice dogs everyone.
