Default Chironomids

Just a tying tip. Pinch the barb before tying as sometimes the hook will break. Then you haven’t wasted any time or material.

I used to however the hooks I have been using have seen zero break. Some cheaper steel hooks are more brittle and will break. Also I use my forceps to pinch on the water. Maybe that helps.

Plus sometimes I like to have a barb when the fish keep getting off. Then you can at least get one to the surface to see what they are.

Beautifully tied and it looks like you have coated them with a glue of some kind. Very good.
Want to up the fly game a notch?????
Add 2 short pieces of pearl ,micro, crystal flash for a tail. Not too long. Your catch rate will go up some more.
Been tying chronomids for 30 years. They all get the tail.

Had one red flash unravel after 30 rainbow in a half day. Left a tail of it. Next day did very well again.

Looks like you need to try some buzzers now, lots of good patterns in them to have fun tying, they work really well too.

I have some tied with anti static bag. They can work at times.
