Default moose hunting near Whitecourt

Just moved to Whitecourt and I would like to apply for a moose draw near Whitecourt . wmu 346 and 349 are the 2 areas I was thinking of applying for. I realize these wmu's are probably quite popular for moose. Any information regarding these or any other areas near Whitecourt would be greatly appreciated.

Decent success rate however priority over the past 10 years has gone from 3 or so, up to about 7. Takes a while to get drawn, but chances are you'll fill your freezer if you put in the time. Probably some better options these days to be honest.

346 and 349 both need atleast a priority of 4 to hunt the rut, a priority of 2 or 3 for the November hunt. If you go further north you will be able to hunt more often for sure..

Success rate is pretty good, I got drawn for late season in 346 with a priority 2 the year before last. My pa was drawn for late season last year with priority 3, shot a bull moose each year. They were younger bull moose, nothing to spectacular for size but the meat was fantastic! I've heard that further north the bull moose are considerably larger. Good luck!

Due to high wolf population and and exploding grizzly bear abundance in Alberta the moose should be put on the endangered list. Before its more elusive than the caribou. Lol
