Default $1000 for binos, what would you do

You have $1000 to spend on binos...what do you buy
What do you get for your $1000...............................and why...

I am in need of new ones and as a reference,my current ones are Leupold cascades that are 9 yrs old and seem like they are losing clarity (yes I am sending them in)

I been researching Monarch 5 and 7's
Minox
Meopta
Maven optics and a few other not too heard of brands

Not a Vortex fanboy or Bushnell but I suppose I can listen to an opinion on them

Leicas and Swaros are outta my range and no I dont feel like saving up for three more years just to buy a set....I am also open to anybody who may have a quality set they may want to sell

I had a pair of zeiss that were shy of 1000. Hd5 very good clarity. I didn't personally like the eye relief but the glass was great and quality as well

Great focus adjustment. The eyepiece stayed where I dialed them and they were lighter than my vortex that I have now.

Go take a look at McBain camera, site advertiser, in the sport optics section, they have a pr Swarovski 10x25 under a grand, as well as several compact Lecia, in your price range
I got a pr of swarvo 10x25 off them, last summer for a smoking price. Not quite in the same league as my Lecia 10x42, but they were $2000 less.
Ive got a pr of Monarch 7 that stay in the 4x4, 8x35 I think, A very nice pr bino's.
Think they give members on here a 10% discount. on regular items.

Leupold BX 4 Pro Guide Bino's in 10x42. When I was looking at Bino's they had the clearest glass, and great warranty. Right around 800 IIRC. You should try as many pairs as you can before making a decision. I was never impressed with the Nikon stuff. My runner up would be the Vortex Viper Hd's

meopta is good. They're nightforce quality, but without the brand. (The glass maker for nightforce is the same as meopta).

Have the same pair of HD BX4 pro guide Leupolds. I love them, can’t go wrong with leupold.

No question if I had that cash for new bino's they would be Mavens. I have a couple friends that make their living looking through them and they swear by the Mavens. Finally got to put my hands on a set last year and in my opinion they are the real deal.

My next, and probably last set will be Mavens.

I'm not a Bushnell fanboy either...……………...but...……………….I have a pair of Bushnell Fusion 10X42 with 1 mile rangefinder. It's the top of the line for Bushnell. I couldn't spend $2500 plus on the Leica RF Binos, so I compromised with the Bushnell.

Glass is good. Good enough that my eyes aren't going to benefit from anything better.

The RF is awesome. Sure you can't hold it on a deer at 600 yards but you can hold it on a nearby surface. I have ranged more than a mile on large reflective surfaces.

Use them constantly, replaced batteries after 3 years.

I would go with the best Leupold I could buy with the $1000 IMO the Leupold is much better then, vortex, bushnel and Nikon,Leupold IMO sits right behind the bid three.Leica,Swarovski and Ziess just my $.02 cents good luck with your new binos and stay safe in the outdoors

Default Deals and lightly used

I am in a similar research/shopping position.

Deals or lightly used on nice binos is my plan, after looking through a scope I cannot now move backwards from.

Exactly the pair I picked up a few months ago, same price too. Much prefer them over the vortex/Zeiss ones I tried, at less the price!

Leupolds.

Another option to consider is the Nikon Laserforce Bino/RF combo. Seen them listed on sale for $ 1149.00 CAN

I have a pair of Vortex Razors that had the diopter crap the bed last hunting season in the middle of a hunt. When I bought them I had a pair of Swarovski SLC's and the Vortex in my hand and actually like the Vortex a bit better and they were a couple hundred bucks cheaper so went with them. To me the two are very comparable.

Now with that said having to send those out to get fixed I ended up stealing my wifes Monarch 5's for a couple months and until then I hadn't spent a bunch of time behind them. I was pretty impressed and didn't feel like I was giving up a whole bunch. The razors are a touch crisper and every bit you can get is great in the sheep hills, but I wouldn't hesitate to take the Nikons out for the more intensive glassing jobs either.

Nikon Monarch 7 and save yourself $500 if you can find them on sale. I recently owned Vortex Razor HD, Nikon Monarch 5 and 7, Leica Geovid and Swaro 10x50 HD flat vision. I have sold all of them and now carry Leica Binos and a Leica CRF 2400 monocular in 7x24

Realistically, once you get to $700, with no RF function, you have topped out the quality of lower priced glass in the 8-10 x 42 range. Once you go over 700 you won't see any difference until you get into the $2000 plus glass like Swaro or Leica, and even then the difference is not large. You can often pickup great used glass from Swaro or Leica in your 1000 price range and if I was looking to spend 1000 that is what I would be buying. I just bought a set of Leica Duovids in perfect condition for $1,200, new they are $3,200, and use those for extended glassing and the Leica CRF in my shirt pocket for regular intermittent glassing and Range Finding.

I’d keep my eyes open for a good Used set of Leica, Zeiss, or Swarovski. Lots of excellent condition used high quality binos around.

A few to start. They might be older ads though. But I’m sure a WTB ad would turn something up.

I don't own any Pentax Binos currently but really have always found Pentax glass to have very good value.

vortex vipers do a great job a that price point. I hunted sheep with them side by side some cheaper binos (vortex crossfire and a brand i can't rememberpair). I was impressed with how they clearly outperformed the cheaper glass by a good margin. I never wished for clearer glass this sheep season. They do the job great for the price.
Caveat: I'm sure there is better glass out there (maybe even for the same money or less). Just one man's experience here...

also, my buddy with the cheaper crossfires was the one who spotted the legal band so hats off to him lol.
