Default TriggerTech Recall

There's a new recall out for trigger tech triggers. Some different models are affected notably the Rem 700 and the AR15 trigger groups.

Is this a 'oops, we made these wrong for awhile' recall or 'someone abused a trigger with dirt/oil and is gonna sue us so we are showing we care' recall?

Looks like it's a defect. A pin can break which can cause the gun to go off when the safety is disengaged

That's too bad. I was hearing such good things. Hopefully it's sorted and not too much damage to their reputation. 😬

Well, it's like anything in life.....stuff happens. Looks like they're learning a lesson both in marketing and manufacturing.

IMHO, they make great triggers. I have a couple of them in use. One just so happens to fall into their window for the defect. I'm not worried. I'll probably remove it and replace it with the one that they will send me. Easy.

There's a visual-cue page at TriggerTech to help you ID your trigger if you don't want to remove your trigger to check for the serial.

Here is a link explaining why and what triggers are under recall.

Not really. The recall is due to some carbide rollers which have been found to crack. They've replaced them with Stainless Steel rollers.

Let's not derail this with a Remington trigger debate. There has been enough and if anyone wants to know use Google. This is about Triggertech.

I have 2 AR and 1 Rem 700 Trigger Techs and got lucky that all mine are not on the list, two of them are little bit older so feared they would be on the list.

Yes they are, are very innovative as well especially due to friction-less designs. However, new designs are often found with flaws, as such with their design. However, they've stepped up to the plate and found a flaw and are seemingly willing to make good on it. It's not a real big deal as carbide rollers would have been found to be a good choice of material for a roller bearing. Carbide rollers would have been a great choice in terms of wear, however were not in terms of impact as far as recoil goes. At least that is my way of thinking. Thus, stainless rollers were chosen as an alternative. I personally would not let this recent recall scare me away from what I perceive to be a good product.

These triggers are very good. They have an innovative design to them with zero creep. In my opinion, I find them better than the Timney's but not as good as the Calvin Elite. Just checked mine with serial# BCR402 and seems not to be a recall.

I have a Calvin Elite 2 stage and will say my Triggertech has no creep or side to side trigger slop that the CE does, I bought it due to being a 2 stage and like the trigger but the side to side movement is a huge disappointment on aftermarket trigger, to me anyways.

Wish TriggerTech made a 2 stage, to be honest I'd for sure get one and sell the Timney.
