Default Flyfishing goals for 2013.

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering what everyone's goals are this year. Since I am relatively new to flyfishing in alberta, my list of goals is pretty basic.

1. Catch a Brown any size
2.Catch a Bull
3. Catch the Mcleod Trifecta, 1lb whitefish, 1lb grayling and 1lb rainbow in the mcleod or tribs.
4.Catch a Cutthroat in one of the Blackstone Tribs.

Here are a few of mine, what are yours?!

tight lines

There are a few hike in lakes I'd like to get to this year that I haven't been to. I haven't really done much backpacking in my life, but I would like to add that to the mix as well.

I've been lucky enough to catch rainbow, cutthroat, brook, brown, bull, the ever elusive golden trout, pink and chum salmon on my fly rod. This spring I would love to catch a pike on fly gear, which I have never done.

Haven't caught Bull yet (though I've had them chase fish that were on my line), but that will come...

Big goals for this year:

-Golden Trout
-trip to Yukon in August for Grayling, Dolly Varden, Inconnu (???)
-get out as often as I can, and have fun relaxing and catching fish

Drink some cold ones and catch fish with my two buds. No goals, just fun.

Going for my first 24" brown this year. Biggest to date is 20" from LRDR. Also looking to break 16" for a grayling.

I had planned to head up high and go after golden trout this year. However, while on vacation last week I re-injured my back hopefully not undoing the 4 months of rehab I have done thus far. So I might just stick to small out of the way streams that I have never fished before. Will see how things go. Hopefully I can heal up and strap the pack on yet.

Well I have just purchased my very first fly gear so my goals are humble.

1.Learn the basics. Get my line wet.
2.Catch a trout.

Going to be on the bow Monday morning attempting to cast on water for the first time. If I can catch even one trout on a fly this year I will be happy.

Found one I figure was 40ish last year but could not get him to take....he was noticeably bigger than the 36" pike buddy pulled out of the same pool...

This year I wanna get out more than a half dozen times...

For those of you targetting bulls......

DO NOT pass up the opportunity of catching a freaking hogg at eh OMR spillway! I've seen fish bigger than 15lbs get caught there and i swear there was a bigger one chasing a rainbow i had on once....

Its an excellent bulltrout fishery in my opinion.

my kids are gonna get their golden trout out of barnaby this summer.

I want a lakewhitefish on a dry. i hear it can be done.

1) Learn how to cast lol
2) Catch first fish

Just tried fly fishing out for the first today but no luck with it. I did find it kind of annoying trying to tie those damn little flys on the line lol.
