Default Cypress hills

I am planning a stop to cypress hills PP (sask side) next week and am wondering if anyone is aware of water conditions. I've never fished the area but have meant to for years now.

I have never been there so if anyone has any tips for access or flies or locations, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

I had a PDF with all of the spring creeks and rivers listed within an hours drive of there, but now I can't find the darn thing.

I found it by googling so maybe you can too.

Looked like interesting info at the time, but I never made it down.

Battle Creek is supposed to have brook trout in it. Likely from spruce coulee on the AB side. This site says there are rainbows and browns too. Looks like a fun little creek! Might be running high and muddy right now.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Loch had a major winterkill this year...there are still some nice fish in there, but lot's of them did not make it this year. Battle is great creek, fish it by the fort and you will catch some decent browns and rainbows.

Battle creek is your best bet, we normally just walk the banks and fish the pools. You will have to head into the west block on the Sask side. Reesor lake on the Alberta side is good, bulls head on Alberta side is good, spruce coulee on the Alberta side is good, and of course battle creek on the Alberta side is also pretty good.

Thanks for all the info! I'm going to be sticking to the streams, but with a forecast full of rain starting now, I'll have to see how it looks. I'm assuming these streams don't blow up quite like the mountain streams... I hope anyway.
