ion auger starts and stops ?

Got my battery fully charged but it wont cut a hole with out stopping and starting like it cutting out or something. Kept battery warm. Don't want to buy a new battery if its the power head that's screwed. 3rd season

I had it happen once to me before,I was drilling through about 24” of ice. Not sure why it did it though since I had already drilled about 5 holes previously. Charged the battery that night and it’s never happened again....might have just been a glitch.

I suspect it is the battery and not the powerhead. A battery running low will cause the same symptoms. If it is the battery and you cannot weasel Ardisam into giving you a new battery I would buy the 5 ah battery. I cut 70 holes into 20+ inches of ice trolling for jackfish this week with the ION X 5 ah battery. The 5 ah battery will fit both the original ION and the ION X

R the blades sharp. If not the auger torques up and cuts out the head drive

I’ve had that happen, I removed battery and put it back onto the head and it worked fine, think I just had a bad connection maybe

blades are new and have tried removing battery and still the same when put it back on. Have emailed ion.

Habfan a neighbour has an ion that im going to try his battery on my auger. Ardisam said to try that.

Tried a friends ion battery on my auger and it works good. Will have to pick up a new battery. I emailed ardisam with a complaint. Wheres the best deal on a battery?

I went out yesterday and as soon as my battery hits 2 bars it cuts in and out, my other battery works perfectly fine? Does ion warranty them or what?

Yes Peavey has them on sale...….but it is a 3ah battery and not the 5ah battery
