Default Wild pigs

A thought to remember, Marx said, "Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed.”

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.

One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting Communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.

The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find
it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.”

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America & Canada. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

One should always remember two truths:

1. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and

2. You can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America & Canada, you might want to share this with your friends.

If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably not share this.

BUT, God help us all when the gate slams shut!

Think about this Quote for today: "The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."

What this "wise" young man says is more than a bit dramatic, certainly paranoid and likely, and at the least, sensationalized fear mongering. But a nice story, almost reads like a parable for children.

Other than the liberals senseless and short sighted push toward greater "gun control" there isn't much else that would be compelling for me to suggest that our government(s) and all the associated parties are all scheming to convert us into a communist country.

And ...... there are many countries where gun control is ridiculously strict yet the rights and freedoms of the people have not been pushed into a communist dictatorship.

The story is nice ...... but is paranoid and senseless.

Hummmmm. Ever heard the term "New Speak"? Hint: think 1984 by George Orwell. Ever heard the term "Politically Correct"? There are several other topics from the same book that equate to life today. Interesting that it doesn't seem to be required reading in high schools anymore.

My daughter has been reading Orwell's books... She's commented to me several times that she sees it unfolding in our time.

I will stay living in Canada and the United States.

And since both governments, and all the people in legislature, are plotting a return to Marxist Communism ..........and the end is near ....... You are welcome to move out if you want.

I hope they have Morrell's in your new country.

And if Zabbo feels the same way, maybe you can take him with you.

The minute you feed into this nonsensical hysterical paranoid fear, and choose not to use your own vote and voice to hold our legislators accountable is the minute you are part of the problem not the solution.

The Trump administration has been a pillar of dictatorship, as he seeks to make independent decisions without Congress, refuses to be transparent, and refuses to accept accountability to his office.

This has, without a doubt, been the most serious indicator of what you guys are talking about, HOWEVER, I'm sure this will be corrected very soon after his departure through legislation. The US has lived and learned now, and they will fix it.

WOW! You really do git yer panties in a knot! Have you been paying any attention to the method the turd is using to bring in his new gun control legislation? It's called an order in council. Essentially, the government (aka the PMO) just decides what is best for Canada and it's people, skips the parliamentary process and makes laws. Hummmm, 1984?? Anyone that believes this new legislation will do anything more than be a pain in the tail of people that just want to enjoy their sport has been spending too much time smoking out in the cabbage patch. Sure makes for great grandstanding in politics though. Just like handing out $25k to victims of the shot down plane. Really surprised he didn't muster a few crocodile tears for that performance! His drama education is letting him down.

As for the Trumper, one of the senators in the states just commented the other day, we don't need this dog and pony show impeachment circus, because within a year the people of the Untied States are going to decide who they want leading the country.

Guess the real bottom line here is, if no one is paying attention, eventually the gate slams closed!

Keep enjoying the "free" corn!
