Default Transfer question ?

I have a gentleman coming to town with a firearm I am interested in buying. I have looked into this and can't find a solid answer so, for those of you in know.

Can I login and using my laptop, enter seller/buyer info etc. and get a transfer #?

The reason I ask is my laptop seams to want to autofill me as the seller.

Thanks much, Tim.

The seller has to start the transfer.

Even on non restricted you have to log in and confirm the buyer information to make sure they are eligible to purchase a firearm (PAL valid, address matches, etc). Has been this way since spring. It isn't technically a transfer as it is not firearm specific but most folks call it a transfer because of habit; and lack of better word.

As was said, it assumes the seller is the one initiating the transfer so they will have to enter information first.

Thanks for the replies all. First (potential) private purchase for me since the new rules came into effect so I'm trying to make this as painless as possible.

The better word would be verification. You are verifying that the buyers (R)PAL is current

All this entire crap is designed for is to inconvenience the legal firearm owner. You do the course fill out the forms, pay your money and then get your license. Then your ran through a data base continually just to make sure you are being a good little girl or boy.

If the RCMP have issued a license and now it’s no longer valid I think they need to be the ones out collecting the “revoked” licenses.

Exactly. This whole transfer-joke is just more liberal garbage to screw with legal firearms owners. Fortunately, many practical minded people don't pay any attention to it.

Check to be sure licenses are not expired, do the dasterly deal. IF restricted then other rules apply.
