This is not funny one bit.... I just saw 5 maps disappear in front of my eyes. All of Parkland just disappeared! Seems like a " Justin Kawecki" is at fault here.

On an iPad .. Thanks
This is how I do it - you will need a .pdf app like acrobat or perfect pdf

Open the map from Google drive - it opens in safari
Then click "open in a new window" - this is better, but not great - if more zoome required then:

Click the download button on top right, and it opens another screen
That new screen should give you the option to "open in..." On the top left. If not, tap the screen once and it should appear
Select "open in..." And the open in acrobat ( or the app that you choose)
When the .pdf is open in acrobat you can zoom in and out as much as you want

Hope that helps.

I'll assume it was someone trying to be helpful. Hopefully the original files are backed-up somewhere? OP is putting effort into maintaining this for us, so lets not jump to conclusions....

Similar note - when someone de-duplicated the files, some of the files that were kept has lower quality images. for example - "County of Stettler" had a high quality image, but "stettler_1" was kept instead. Easy mistake if just looking at file names. Was the "county of stettler" file backed up anywhere?

How can I help maintain this? It is brilliant idea and a great resource, I'd be happy to help.

One suggestion - instead of deleting old maps straightaway - maybe put them in a folder "to delete after 30 days". That was if an error is found, it can be corrected easily?

One reason I love this, here is a screenshot of google earth with the landowner map overlaid. You can adjust it to see the terrain or the owner. save the file, transfer to ipad, and take it in the truck.

Not perfect, but workable...

It shows in the history that 11 files were deleted by that user. Hopefully they put it back...

I go to Vegas for 5 days and this is what happens... Haha. Just kidding. Probably an honest mistake by the user. I will have to double check but I should have most of them that I can re-upload. I did not have the latest version backed up unfortunately. I thought about it but never got around to doing it.

I am assuming that the user probably has Google Drive on their computer (different interface and functionality than using the web version) and just clicked and dragged them to his desktop not realizing he was removing them from the folder (as opposed to doing a copy/paste to his desktop). If he is reading this and can throw them back up there that would be awesome.

Like I said, I just got back from holidays and I'm a touch busy so please give me a bit of time to get around to uploading the ones I have. Once we have them all back up there I will be sure to keep a good backup in case this ever happens again. Sorry everyone.

Looks like I spoke too soon. It appears that the user realized what had happened and re-uploaded all of the files but just in a different folder. I have put them all back where they belong and made a backup copy on my hard drive that I will keep in case this happens again. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.

Sticky would be pretty sweet @astepanuk. Haha. Thanks.

Keep 'em coming people. Dig deep into your hard drives and look for Owner Maps and post them. If you don't know how, PM me and I will walk you through it. I've hit a bit of a roadblock and can't get all of them on my own. NEED your help. It would be really cool to get all of them...

Awesome work by all involved.

Thanks!

For everybody with Google Drive, simply highlight all files, click: Add to my drive.

Now keep in mind you are in a collaboration with EVERYBODY. If you delete it, it deletes it for everybody. The only way this works is if everybody can input their own files for everybody's benefit.

To help prevent this from happening, select all files and select "download".

It will start your browser downloading. It's 1.7 gigs I think, so it'll take awhile, especially if the google drive files are still syncing. Wait it out.

Once done, go to your browser downloads and either save the .zip file where you can find it, or open the .zip file and export the native files to a folder. This way you have a copy on your HD, and can replace the files lost if somebody else deletes by accident. You can then delete these files as they will no longer be a part of Google Drive's collaboration files.

Foothills and Pincher Creek are both in the list of available maps in the original link that I had posted. Here is the link again:

Right click file or folder. Click share. Type in e-mail. Send.

The end user needs Google Drive account as well. He can sign-up when he gets the email notification.

I've had issues with the downloaded program to computer. I always share files through the webpage Google Drive. That might be due to our security software though.

Has anyone been able to find the complete PDF of the vulcan county landowner map? So far we just have the north half.
