Smile Varget & 30.06

I'm having fun researching and am going to get into reloading. What's your experience with Varget and the 30.06? I've been using factory 180 grain bullets and have been happy with how they've performed. So far my favorites are Hornady SST, Hornady Interbond (superperformance) and Barnes Vortex Ttsx. For a cheap round the Remmington Core-Lockt are ok.

When you run the math handloading makes the most sense with premium bullets.

From what I've gathered so far it almost looks like the 168 grain are the preferred bullet. My main game will be deer and elk. What are your favorite Varget/bullet/primer recipes for (deer/elk) and the 168 and 180 gr bullets... advantages/disadvantages and why?

If you have another favorite powder for this combination what is it?

I lean a bit more towards 4350 in the 30-06 with 165's and heavier.
Varget is pretty good for 150's and lighter 165's but 4350 seems to trump things when the bullet weight gets up there.
That's unless it's being ran through a Garand that is. Then stuff like 4895 gets the nod.

Another vote for IMR4350. Seems to be a deadly combination with 165gr accubonds. Here's a pic of the accubonds in my X-Bolt.

Probably about the same as Varget, and RL 15. A we bit better suited to the Garand gas system though.
