Default 204 loads

I have been shooting a Ruger with a timney trigger in 204 for the past 2 seasons and love it for coyotes with factory 32 gr loads.I have also been playing, trying to find a load around 4000fps that will group 1/2 to 3/4 inches,to no avail.Does anyone have a good load that they wouldn't mind sharing. I have reloaded for 35 plus years and never been this frustrated with any other gun/calibre/speed.

What works in buddies rifle might just give lousy performance in yours.
Every rifle is unique unto it's self, and requires the individual rifle to have loads worked up in it and evaluated as a stand alone entity.
No short cuts can be made to develope accurate reloads.
What it takes is time , time , and yes more time.
Enjoy.
PS: your in the wrong section of the forum.

Hey Coyote man, I've loaded a lot for small calibers. I've spent a lot of time with 17 Remingtons, and now the last year and a half with the 204 as well. These small calibers can be very finicky. I've had good success with H4895 in the 204. I have shot 40gr Vmaxes and 40gr Bergers, my best success has been with loads that are more towards the minimum, than maximum. As 284 said, guns are unique individuals. Some like speed, others don't. I am not sure why you have to achieve the 4000 fps, find a load that shoots out of your gun first. To be honest, those coyotes are not going to know the difference between 4000fps and 3800fps. Hope some of this helps and good luck to you!
I've posted a link devoted to the 204

Try the 35 gr bergers with 28 gr of H-4895 or 25.5 gr of RL-10X. You should get between 3550 and 4000 ft/sec. The 35 bergers are the absolute king for yotes.
*NOTE* Start your loads at least 1 grain below those that I have listed. What works in my gun may not in yours.

Default ruger 204 remedied?

A while back I was puzzled by poor groups out of a RugerM77 in 204 and have started making progress.Wanted to free float barrel but customer service advised against-did it anyway and what a difference in my groups.Switched from 22-250 2 seasons ago as main coyote gun and havent touched a 22 since even though I shot 250s for 35 years.
