Lightbulb $430 million .... for Trout

Mike Trout signing a 12-year, $430M deal..
Quote:
Mike Trout is on the verge of becoming baseball's first half-billion dollar man.

Trout and the Los Angeles Angels are close to finalizing a $432 million, 12-year contract that would shatter the record for the largest deal in North American sports history, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press.

Best player to possibly ever wear a ball cap. Obviously he's a revenue generator and has earned it. Good for him. Classy guy too

While I agree, this clearly means revenues for the owners are even more nuts. Paid for by guys like us who love watching ball....

Why not just enjoy it? NOt you per se, just anyone who gets their panties in a knot about athletes' salaries. None of us can hit or throw a ball like that guy. Good for him. One of the best memories of my life was watching him end a game in extra innings while me and my young boy were munching down on hotdogs and peanuts. Too much consternation. Life is serious enough and short to begin with. Enjoy the ride.

If you feel better watching athletes who make the same or less go to a CFL game.

Oh don’t get me wrong I’m totally on your side with that. I think pro athletes earn their money big time. It’s an open competition for everyone. I can’t stand it when people complain about their salaries. I was simply implying it’s not athletes or owner greed. We fuel the salaries. I’m a happy spectator
