Question Restricted question

Here is a question, do not know how silly this may be, but I am under the impression that when someone acquires a restricted firearm, then a letter is sent out to the neighbourhood, notifying everyone that someone in their neighbourhood has a restricted weapon. I am hoping I am incorrect, but if someone has an answer from experience, that would be great.

Thanks

That must be why all my neighbors houses are sand bagged. NO. Seems to me, New York city published the list of registered hand gun owners in the city. Outrage and a dramatic increase in break ins there.

Heard that this was the case from somewhere. not to sure where, to many channels to narrow it down, but none the less, just wanted to make sure, hence why I asked. Thanks for clearing that up.

Having restricted is stupid. All guns should be legal just like in the USA. Canada like to have us all under the thumb.

Better yet, make the letter a neighbourhood survey asking folk if they agree that the applicant should be issued a license. As a further precaution, add mandatory lawn signs indicating which households have firearms. If you live in an apartment building, a whitewash cross painted on the door will do.

And the final refinement: an online database searchable by address, like this:
