Default Gold Trails and Ghost towns

Last night I re discovered on YouTube a program I used to watch in the 80's called Gold Trails and Ghost Towns. I was fascinated then and still amazed today of our history. I have no idea why we don't produce more shows like this that covers the whole of Canada. So Educational and well produced, That when the stories are told, I can imagine myself there in real time.
I'm sure I am not the only one who has watched this tv series.

I watched it and really enjoy it. Until your post it is something that has never pop back into my memory.

Thanks for this, I’ll have to revisit this show on YT. The TV world lacks quality shows this days, that’s why I don’t have it anymore I guess.

I've got a book, Gold Creeks and Ghost towns, from that era, covers BC. and very interesting. Another by the same author that concentrates on gold exploration. One has to wonder about the similarity of titles ?

Same guy that write the books. Always figured that would make an interesting road trip to search out some of these places, taking a gold pan along, of course.

I as well would love to visit these places. Couple years and i'll be retired and I think i will take the truck camper a pan and metal detector and hit the road.
Barlee had a way of telling the stories so that anybody could follow and be captivated.

His voice was like sitting around the campfire, listening to stories. You could even budge as you didn't want to miss one word. Great show.

I used to love watching that show....it was always very interesting. Funny this thread came up now as, just a few days ago it came to mind and I asked the wife if she had ever seen it, which she hadn't so I spent a few minutes telling her about it.....guess I will need to check it out on YouTube and show her.....I am sure I could spend hours watching it again with no problem.

They have an FB page too, various people from various parts of BC contributing quite a bit of stuff. Happened across it a couple of months back, made me go look up a couple of the shows again. Good stuff.
