Default hey

hey superfans, i remember last year we had a little interest in a north south classic. it would be cool to get that hope ressurected. i would rather have bragging rights over something i did not what somebody else did. anyway it would be fun, good way to seperate the grownups from the children, (not gonna say men from the boys cause i know a few girls that can skate circles around 90% of guys). but as for the nhl same thing as i always say edmonton and calgary are two middle of the road franchises on up and down cycles, sucessful, not sucessful. hey if both of them can consistently fight for first in the west and be a perenial threat for the cup then hey boys we got an argument, but when both are sneaking in making a good run one year, then coming back and not making the playoffs or getting the two boot salute from the first round then we don't have much to say do we. however insignificant it may be i would rather be passionate for the rec leauge jersey on my back than the silky one on theirs until both teams make a commitment to their fans to make winning consistently over the long haul their number one priority i'm gonna care a lot more about tuesdays and sundays at the local barn having some brews with lads than i am about cheering for someone who doesn't change my everyday lives. sorry boys but i'll take a smelly old room (it's not locker room, just "room" in hockey) with crappy passing, out of breath from a short shift players and the satisfaction that you went top cheese on the other teams tendy twice in a game for the first time in a month, over watching millionaires skate without a semblence of thought what they are playing for and the people that care so much about what they accomplish any day of the week. i like to watch the nhl but it just disturbs me that such a high percentage of guys in the show forgot what got them their. forecheck, backcheck, paycheque!!!!! just my thoughts i love the game, love the nhl, but i'll take 9pm starts and only getting the ice flooded between the 2nd and 3rd over watching somebody else play the game on t.v

I believe the Oil sit at 5-1. Can we please make the preseason the regular season? The buggers always do great in the fake games and eventually drive me bonkers when it counts. What will this season bring? Go Oil!

Sure we lost. But the changes I saw in the way they played was all good stuff. They need a little more time getting used to the big changes in they way they play. But when that happens, watch out.

What are the big changes in the way they play? Did Keenan bring in some complicated new system they haven't grasped yet?

700 I could have swore you were a Sharks fan.. Didnt the Oilers beat you guys last night???

Last night for the flames was a bit disapointing, but its not that big of a deal. I want to see how they look come x-mas.

Dion threw a few good hits around. Also I find this amazing he played over 30 minutes
Who was the guy that creamed Briere with a minute or so left.. WOW great hit.
Good scrap for Godard. He showed up at the right time.

Philly looks like a better team than last year.

I dont see to many Oiler fans stepping up to make any sort of bet this year?? What are you guys looking for??? Us to spot you a few points?

My favorite team is the Sharks and anyone who beats the Flames. I think I hate the Flames more than I like the Sharks. At least they didn't lose to the worst team in the league
As for the Briere hit, if you watch Calgary is in posession of the puck when he gets hit. How can that be a good hit?
The Flames remind me of the Canadiens of a few years past, There not a good team, so the refs give them as many chances as possible

See.. your day is already looking up

Not sure where that comment came from.. Always with the little shots. But then I realize where they are coming from and it becomes clear.

Enjoy your season of hating, I plan on enjoying the season of actually wanting a team to win.

With Iron mike they will either pull together or be a flaming disaster. Defence needs time to get used to each other, as they are all pretty much brand new pairings.
Me, worried ? No.
Keep an eye on Juice this year, if he does well the Flames will. If he is not doing all that great the flames will suffer. He is a HUGE impact on our second line scoring.
So much hate on the flames... everybody hates those that have what they want eh!

I'll bet the Sharks go further in the playoffs than the Phlegms.

Hey Calgary fans,
I believe Flames are ranked 5th in our division, Oilers 12th. So instead of pulling the big bully act lets bet who will be finish higher than their rankings.

I just finished watching the Oil vs the wings. 4-2 wings, but starting at about the 18 minute mark of the second, the Oilers really were dominante. When you think about it, when was the last NHL team that opened the season 2-0 with 5 individual players who never played an NHL game before?

MacT, is going to have his hands full, basically spending the season teaching, "NHL 101", but man, they are going to be a hoot to watch, and kind of remind me of the Pens 2 seasons ago (w/o Crosby of course)! I doubt they'll make the playoffs, but it is going to be all out run-and-gun old school Oilers hockey. Love 'em or hate 'em, but they'll be hard to NOT watch!

Default I am in!

As a Oil fan, I have been pleasantly surprised about the start of the season and hope the crew of young guys can keep it up! They are playing some pretty exciting hockey to watch. I remember the bet from last year and like the idea of going by quarters as well. I would be more than happy to take up the cause for the Edmonton side and be willing to post a Flames banner of the other sides choice if anyone else ie: Jamie is up for it. It would be nice to see at least a few guys willing to put up for either side.

Who else is in??
GO OILERS GO!!
