What if Prout fights Gudbranson and loses, is Peluso in then next game? What I'm really impressed with is Hamonic willingness to drop the gloves with Gudbranson, who is a much bigger man, and that he finished the game with a fractured face. Good on him, gladly take players like that on the Flames.
Trochu.. I hope every thing comes out of this. This team needs to gell, it needs to find a identity (What ever that is) . Lots of firepower on paper lets hope they show some character and come together for each other.

The toughest guy in the leauge could be a terrible fighter and the most skilled fighter might have a low pain threshold. Who cares if our toughest guy isn't in the line up. Also, how do you know Hamonic is "tougher" than Gio, Prout, Smith, Monahan, etc.?

I think it can do that based on Hamonics past actions. Gelling by fighting a guy we already fought, who got a penalty for the play, and apologized, doesn't seem the best way to gain said identity. He paid the price already, lets move on and just beat them 5-0, that seems like a better identity to me.

Smith makes me cringe....that's two shorties in two games that he needs to stop. What a momentum killer. It won't make the pp better if you're constantly worried about the puck going the other way. At least they came back and tied it....but it would be preferable if it were 2-1 Flames.

Hence the scoreboard comment. After thats done beat them into submission and make so that coming into the Dome is a bad idea. This broken face and late hit is just a damn good excuse.

2-2

YEAH!

I was just thinking how pathetic we here in Calgary are. Here it is Saturday night and we all sit in our individual houses and sit here talking on line about a live game we are watching on TV. We all carry a few things in common as well...

Why don't we get together at someones house or in some bar some place and watch the game.

Better yet, a group night at a flames game!!

Not sure about you guys but I want to get out more.

It would be nice to meet you guys in person. Even Bessie!!!!

Yeah, pretty weak for Virtanen to throw a late one like that, but he has always played a gutless game. Sure didn't like the goal being waved....but I liked the good one!

4 goals on 12 shots...so, that's a .667 save %...?

All my expectations of Smith are being met. And yeah, I know, 5 on 3...still totally underwhelmed by him.

Fun Idea

Battle of Alberta AO. First Oilers vs Flames game we should organize a get together at a local sport bar in whatever town the game is being played in. I could always make a road trip to Calgary and give Bessie some support.

For Smith, tonight, for sure....but really shouldn't an NHL starter be making that save? I thought the goals he allowed overall were not impossible, with the exception that 5 on 3 goal...though we have all seen stops made even in that situation.

We need a starting goalie.

No, that was a top shelf save... Not a normal one by any means. But I do agree with the fact he is not looking great at this point. Since we don't have another choice all I can do is hope he finds his game.

Ok, I will give Smith one heck of a save, but he was really a liability tonight. His team bailed him out, and they did a great job of out hustling and out playing the Nucks.

But how about that Pedderson kid?? He's dynamite!
