Brian and Ken Hitchcock have a bet about who can abuse the thread they have holding them to life the longest...before it snaps.

This game...yeah. Can't blame Smith, but so wanting to turn game off at this point. Absolutely nothing to be encouraged about. To think I opened a good bottle of 21 year Jura and wore my Flames jersey for this.

But we can't be last, Bessie, Oilers already have a reservation again.

*edit*....yeah, Smith on the Shortie goal. Jesus wept.

A little humble pie was served up in Washington last night........

https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/l...versial-fight/

Just a suggestion.. Don't celebrate a 7-0 lead in front of the opposing teams bench in ANY level of hockey or sports.

Personally, I don't see any controversy in what Marchand did. If anything, the Caps should be embarrassed and take care of it themselves in practice.
Your going to shoot your mouth off, at least show up when the bell rings.

Apparently season openers are not our thing. I didn't see the first two periods as I was flying home from work, but what I did see Flames were out playing them last half of the third. Just couldn't get it in the net.
Hear the power play is just as brutal as last year.
Anyways on to game two and hopefully some revenge.

It seemed like a rerun with some new actors (if that makes any sense). Lots of hype for the power play, nothing to show for it. Lots of shots, nothing to show for it.

It's only the first game and they are still working on getting to know each other but that should have been 2 points.

Good things will come.

If they don't win tonight, I'm selling my hypothetical box seats.

I don't have even hypothetical box seats...but if they don't win tonight, I'm gonna do what any good president would do. Send out a derisive, mean, catty, bullying tweet like a vexed 13 year old girl! That's what I'm gonna do! Yeah!

But I'd prefer they win, rather than go for the nuclear tweet option.

If the later part of your comment is in regards to the Hamonic/Dube/Gudbranson issue, I hope nothing comes of it. Gudbranson got a penalty for the play, fought Hamonic, and publicly apologized to Dube. The hit was a bit early, yes, but I don't thing it was terribly egregious. What if Prout fights Gudbranson and loses, is Peluso in then next game? What I'm really impressed with is Hamonic willingness to drop the gloves with Gudbranson, who is a much bigger man, and that he finished the game with a fractured face. Good on him, gladly take players like that on the Flames.
