Default Any noticed how boat launches have ….

In the past two years, the boat launches have turned into beaches. Dogs, barbecues, kids, swimmers, coolers. It’s endless.
All pleasant folks and will guide you through to pick up your boat.
How things have changed.
Kayaks and paddle boards out number fishing boats by at least double or more.

I think that in provincial Parks they should make extra docks for hand launched boats, and for people to fish off of.
Lots of lakes you can't fish effectively from the shore, and the boat launch gets too busy for that.

i find nothing worse than people tying off their boat for the day or even worse for the evening as they go back to there camp stall and there is only 2 or places to tie off.
All boat piers should have a sign saying 1/2 hr max parking !

boat launches need to be just that for safety reasons....boats going out and coming in....seen too many close calls with people using them outside their intended use.

I can see why the boat launches would be an attractive spot to lounge around for the day. There is usually a lot to see and be amused by.

I made a few trips to Premier Lake this spring. There are 2 boat launches, the main launch at the campground, and the Kimberly Rod and Gun boat launch. The R & G launch is the one I use and I noticed a huge increase in people coming down there with their paddle boards and kayaks. There is not a lot of room down there and I had to deal with a guy that thought he should just park where ever he wanted (would have ended up blocking me in had I been out on the water and not caught this at the time). I can see where this will cause some problems as there seems to be a lot of I'll do what I want and screw the rest of you attitude, had the same problem up at Alces Lake in Whiteswan Provincial park.

Ha the few times I launch every summer for work, the few minutes I wait to launch and recover provides some quality entertainment!
