Default Bench Swaging Tool

This tool seems to be quite expensive where I have been looking ...$200-$240....Does anyone have any leads or hints where I could find one a little cheaper or even a used one? Is this a tool where you get what you pay for?

They are expensive but rather handy. However, nothing a pair of cable cutters and a hammer can't do.

Default bench swaging tool

I make all my own snares, and just hammer the ferrels on. They certainly work as good as anything else.

Default Bench Swager

Bought mine at Trapper Gords in Debolt and was around the 200.00 mark. I have seen them on Ebay for cheaper but not sure on the quality.

i watched some guys making snares on google and i thought that bench mounted swagger tool was quite nice. on the other hand iv'e worked with aircraft cable or years and never needed one. some proper hand held cutters and crimpers is all that you really need for the thckness of the cable used in snares imho.

Default Tool

Princess auto has a crimping tool with 3-4 different size crimps it's a hand swager but hold one side in a vice. Crimped ferrels are way more secure then a hammer.

i disagree...i have personaly tested swagger crimps verses hammer, hammer held more weight then the crimp but you dont have to worry about any coyote or wolf pulling even the crimp apart it still holds alot of weight

I disagree also. But, if your worried about it happening with hammered ferrules just give them an extra cross punch with a standard screw driver.

I disagree with you i have also tested both and found crimped ferrules far superior but i guess everyone needs to do what works for them
