I did a deer hide with the hair on about 6 or 7 years ago and it's still doing great. I scraped the whole hide with just a hunting knife and I was lucky to not put any knicks in it. The process involved soaking and fleshing over the course of 3 days, directions are on the bottle. I'm sure that the prep that you did to your pelts would have been much better than mine. The only thing about my hide is that it is still fairly stiff but I could fix that if I wanted to go over it with a wire wheel. When the pelt is semi dry you can run it over a rope to make the pelt leather soft, there are youtube vids on how that's done.
