Default Vintage fibre glass rod

Hey guys, a buddy of mine got a vintage rod from his dad, markings are pretty hard to make out, but it’s says “regal 4947” followed by 2.75m/9’, I cant find any markings for rod weight but I’m assuming it’s a 4 weight, will add pics later.

Does anyone have any info on this rod?

Thx

This is what I found. Daiwa, most likely a 7w

Those are really cool - I have a few older glass rods and they are pretty fun to have around and look at how well things used to be made.

Your best bet is to try it with a 4 wt line although I believe it was more like a 7 wt rod.
