Default Lapua Scenars

What's the skinny on these bullets. I've only met one person and while they liked them they felt the meplats weren't all uniform.

Are they worth the extra cash? I've shot nearly every brand and haven't had much problems with then but I'm looking for a solid .30 cal for F TR next year.

Opinions? Thoughts?

Default Scenars

I use scenars in my 6.5x 47( 139 gr) and in 308 Win (155 Gr), found them to be very good for f class. I buy in bulk at $370 per 1000 not overly priced for a match bullet. From Target Shooting Products.

They are as good as anything else out there and cheaper than Berger for the most part. Easier to find than match kings as well.

Look like Chinchagas or the old Alberta Wildcats.
I have fired Scenars by the bucket full in years past in .223, 6.5, and 30 cal cartridges, love them.

Kinda look like AP .50's, although I've never seen such a point on a .50 except for slapper rounds.... Either way its a badass looking bullet!

They are 205gr .308 Chinchagas, I've been talking to skytop and Dalej about them.

Yes, they are Chins, have not shot them yet but they are impressively consistent in weight and dimension and are only .004 longer from ogive to base then the 210 VLD so I will try them in the 300WM if I ever get some time off work.

you will not find a more consistent bullet with this high of bc anywhere.if you run them through a comparator you will stop at bullet 5 and just load them! in the 308 i would suggest shooting the 176 grainers of dales.i have won matches and aggs with these in my 308;shot confirmed bc is over .7.i dont think going to a 205 grainer has any distinct advantage with dales bullets without driving them harder than you can with a 308. just finished an open gun in 30 saum that i will be running the 205 grainers of dales.then i can drive the heavies to a velocity where there is an advantage.

I have shot Dale's bullets into a 5 shot group at 300 meters getting sight settings for kamloops f-class in a 284 1/2 inch

shot the 308 bullets into a 1.5 inch 10 shot group at 800 meters (880 yards)

I have scored for 6.5 at calgary and man do they group, great bullets,

I shot bergers only because I have the 308 bullets on order for a year and bought a pile of them but I have a motto for Dale's bullets and it goes like this

"if he can supply them you should buy them"

see when he can get you some for

"if they do not group then you cannot shoot"

DaleJ - Never noticed the silver point on your avatar pic, the size makes the copper blend through! I sent you a PM
