Default New to ice fishing

Hi all,

I would like to take my kids ice fishing, and was thinking of Michelle Reservoir (south of Medicine Hat) but am open to suggestions. Any advice regarding what to use. I have an auger & tackle (rods, reels, micro jigs etc...), but am new to hard water fishing and unsure how to set up. Any & all advice/suggestions welcome.

If you want to catch fish for sure, altho not very big ones. take them to Enchant and fish the pond there. you only need to go maybe 30 feet from shore, and use small hooks with maggots. You should catch lots of little perch, and the odd trout. I will probably be there tomorrow.
