It's not like I'm pining for one...but I 100% resent the fact that I can't own one. For that reason, I signed the petition...and plan on getting more active in the efforts to make them legal in Canada.

It's not like we need another issue that sheds light on the government's lack of rational, fair, reasonable thought on gun issues in Canada..but this is one for sure.

They are akin to a car with or without a muffler. There is no such thing as completely silent except on TV. In England even airguns come with them as well as it is considered poor form to disturb your neighbors when dealing with backyard pests.

I would get one in a heartbeat on my coyote rifle.

And to think the prediction was made that 99% of us wouldn't be interested in this.

What you are saying is true except for subsonic ammo. I have had the opportunity to install a shoot suppressed rifles and with subsonic ammo they are almost silent. Less noise than a pellet gun

What do you shoot with bullets less than 1000 fps?
Most guys are trying squeeze out all the speed they can.

There is actually factory ammo for para military use. Other than that I am not at liberty to say

Usually subsonic ammo comes in .22lr or 9mm. I think there might be some for .300 blackout but don’t quote me on that as I’m not very familiar with that cartridge other than it was developed to be run suppressed.

I hand load sub-sonic for 308,303 Brit, and 30-30. I have played around with sub-sonic 22-250, and 243 but wasn't to thrilled with the accuracy results. The others are fun accurate blinkers and would make for a great 100yd or less hunting round. I don't really need a reason but if you asked why?.....cause I can

300 blk is supposed to be subsonic.

Once you best the speed of sound then it gets louder with the sub sonic crack. The military downloads special purpose weapons for that very reason.CB longs are great out of a BA ,pump or single shot .22 for grouse etc without spooking the rest of the flock.

That being said, I would buy one for sure if legal for hearing protection.

Matt
Yes, this would be due to the crime wave of bad guys using suppressed firearms that happened before they were outlawed. Oh wait, that never ever happened, its just that some people who are in charge of making laws saw some movies once, movies with special effects that diverge significantly from real life, such a shotguns that throw a person back 10' when they're hit by a blast and people who can levitate during Kung Fu fights.

I fully support legalizing them, it should be achievable when one notes that they are safety devices that also reduce noise pollution (think of the shooting ranges that are being encroached by development where the new residents complain about the pre-existing residents)

Ya probably. One on my 45 would be bad *****. Lol. It's subsonic

Plus overall quieter would be wicked for the coyote rigs

archery is pretty quiet and i'm betting landowners appreciate the heck out of that

i would totally get behind the suppressor movement, for personal hearing, to be less disruptive to the landowners and other hunters even, and a big one would be for more doubles on coyote stands! anything over a .204 seems to send the rest running like mad no matter what

i agree i wouldn't pack one for mountain hunts but everything else is a great idea for everyone really, don't see the downside at all, even from a leftist point of view

I want 1, no 2, no I want one for pretty much each rifle, but I'd love to have one on my BCL 102, I think an over barrel suppressor would look awesome tucked inside my hand guard

I don't shoot enough to care for one so no I wouldn't buy one. not against them though. Would be nice at range instead of muzzle brakes on everything plus they don't even look good on a rifle

A month late, but yes I would purchase a few suppressors. Hunting on land close to occupants, would absolutely lessen the intrusion.

At the range too.

And I came across some Aguila Colibre .22lr ammo this past weekend, reading some articles, that it is really subsonic. 495fps! Quiet without the felony of owning a supressor in Canada. https://calibremag.ca/aguila-colibri-tested/

My Slavia break barrel does that velocity.

Definitely would go for one or more , I have no intention of shooting someone ! without him hearing the shot ! I want to inflict as much trauma as possible if i miss ! But realistically yes I am all for them
