By the way, my current GSP I imported from the states with competition lines, the previous two were not. All were great in the field and home. All my buddies wanted to hunt over ALL the GSP's I have had

My son is off picking up a GSP pup today. It will be his second of that breed. The first passed from cancer a few months ago. Experts and posers are fairly plentiful on the web, and are not hard to spot.

REALLY nice set up, too bad he did not have more room.
Something else to see a whole herd of puppies running around free range with older dogs and the odd beagle!

Yep you know a breeder is serious when he keeps entire litter to evaluate them. I have imported from The states and eastern Canada and they didn’t hunt like his dogs. His blood is highly regarded by breeders in the states. All things come to an end.
Regarding trial dogs as house pets. My personal experience is the opposite of Veratiles. With the exception of my current dog, they have all come from field trial blood and have been real sweethearts in the house.

A good friend had an almost all white GWP from Ryan, excellent hunter, but he had to watch him around other dogs, because he would get aggressive and start fights.

All white, probably out of Sandy and probably a smaller fast dog. Sandy was a real B!

He was around seven, when he died in a kennel a couple of years ago, while my friend was overseas.
