Default Refrigeration deep freezer question

Will a home chest style freezer work if stood on end instead
of the regular flat way. Tks

Not that I know of. The refrigeration pump is designed to work in one orientation only.

Either you'll deprive your pump of oil, and the pump gives out, or you'll drown your pump in the oil, and it won't cool.

Only if you remount the pump/compressor in the right orientation as well.

PS if you haven't had an upright freezer before the same cubic feet will hold considerably less food. I would say 10-15% less due to less effective use of the space.

Default Had both stand up and chest freezers

Nice to have access to all the food in the standup. Prefer this option to the big monster. I can send the kids to get something with out a worry and it’s convenient. The door on the chest freezer would be huge... and it not designed for that orientation.
