Default New bullet puller

I just picked a couple of these up and they work as advertised. Great product.

I didn't give it much thought and usually used a set of side cutters and then threw the bullets out. But with components as scarce and expensive as they are I think I'll try and save everything now. This allows that.

Thanx for the post chuck I used to use a pair of pliers and piece of leather to wrap the bullet but this gonna be much easier and leave no marks .

Expensive for a pair of pliers. Can buy a collet puller for considerably less.

After your warning about inertia pullers, I recently bought a hornady collet puller. Wow, I can't believe how much time I wasted with the rcbs inertia puller.

What does this puller offer over the collet style pullers?

It is incredibly simple to use. I don't know if it is leaps and bounds above a collet puller, but it is quicker.

Those inertia pullers are plain stupid. And they ruin bullets.

How do you figure? A collet puller and three collets are more expensive.

I have seen enough. I'm in for one, Roger.

Trust me, it will get used well

I'm in for a group buy if someone organizes it.

My wife will gladly pay that as I usually do my reloading when her and the kids have gone to bed, she hates when I get a new gun and have load development days.

Looks like a simple, versatile and effective tool.

I'd dip plastic handles on mine to ease finger strain.

Same idea as the Davidson bullet pullers that were designed in 1952.

Too late for me now. I bought the RCBS one in the early 80's and just added collets as necessary over the years. Looks like a good product though.

I realize it's US, but just for comparison. Way better way to treat bullets you plan to reuse.

Do you have one? If you did you would realize that that puller is $16.99 and every collet is $11. So no it is not cheaper. And why exactly is it "way" better?

Looks easy to operate and can use one puller for several calibers. Convenient.

I had an old set of wire strippers I wasn't using. drilled a 5/16 hole in these and they work great for 7.62x39 bullets. If you try this remember to keep the handles about 1/8" apart before drilling.

I've been using a Hornady collet puller for years and bragging it up at every opportunity. This puller looks easier and faster to use.

Has anyone had a chance to compare these to the Davidson puller's?

Thanks alot for the post chuck, I was actually looking at getting a rcbs collet puller today, and like you've said, the collet puller is $26.99, and every collet is $15.99. the collet puller with 3 collets was $75 before shipping, which put it up around $85. with the sh*tty exchange rate, my order was $78. really appreciate the posts like this one!!!

Default Updates?

Any updates on this thread? Is there a Canadian supplier? Did A few years of experience tell us anything?

I have an RCBS with all the collets that I first bought 40 years ago, I also have a Hornady collet puller. The Hornady is far superior, faster and never marks the bullet. I tried these plier type pullers and unless the bullet has a canneleure the pliers leave a definite mark on the jacket, but so can a collet if you put too much pressure on it. They are fast, inexpensive and multi caliber, though you would still need three or 4 to cover all the common bases. If I am pulling a lot of expensive bullets I still want to use the Hornady collet puller.
