Whats taking so long !

Anyone else out there waiting for their P.A. License . I put mine in just before the dead line and I'm still with out. Thought about joining L.U.F.A , but didn't want my guns confiscated just before the fall ( fate worse than death ) . The spring bear hunt is just around the corner and still nothing . I Was expecting a temporary possession only until they got their heads out of their butts, no such luck . What happens if I get caught whith out and how long is the wait . Appreciate the feedback D.W.

According to Justice Canada's Firearms Centre web site, www.canadianfirearms.com/, you may be missing some information on your application (a separate window appears with this warning after you log on to their site), or they may not have gotten around to it yet. There was a tremendous rush of applications in December that is now a very large backlog. Telephone 1-800-941-1991 or e-mail canadian.firearms@justice.gc.ca to see what can be done. Let them know your concern about the spring bear hunt. Keep the pressure on! They should at least issue you a temporary, and failing that pack the correspondence with you in the field with your gun. I doubt anyone will check (firearms licences should be a low priority to officers) but of course, you never know.
