Without using a borescope, you can’t tell much.
Use the contact I pm’d you and get him to look at he rifle.

I have a 338 that I could never get below 2”. I took it to Ron Smith to get him to put a new barrel on it. He bore scoped it and said the barrel looks pretty good. He took it apart and it was bedded about an inch past the breech onto the barrel. He cleaned it back to the breech and now it shoots half inch. Couldn’t believe the difference that made.

maybe try lapping or firelapping the bore with JB bore compound before giving up. last time I was in P&D Enterprises in Edmonton they had both fine and medium compounds in stock. if you are going to junk the barrel anyway, give this a try before admitting defeat.
