If you require a drop tube in today'a world, I think you have bigger problems that what is apparent.

I use a drop tube with RL26 in the Creedmoor actually.

Well, I have an apology to make to everyone on this thread.Especially the OP. The numbers I posted above are not correct.. Actually ,they are off by quite a bit. My fingers were in motion before my mind was in gear. That won't happen again.
Although the numbers are incorrect,the gist of my original post remains the same.. There are better, more efficient powders for the .270 win/130 gr bullet than H 4831.
I sincerely this hope apology is acceptable to most of you. Credibility is everything. Thank You.

One of the most modern cartridges, one of the most modern powders, and you still use old technology like a drop tube, imagine that.

One of the benefits of H & IMR is that there easy to get and readily available in most sporting goods stores,,, they are old school powders,,, but they work...
Yes, a person could push the X booltiz faster with this or that,,, but at the end of the day it all works out...
Load up some different weigth powder charged rounds,,, go to the range and find the load that your rifle likes,,, go crazy if that suits your fancy,,, or keep it simple...
It makes no difference to me or most of the AO folks on what path you choose since its your rifle,,, cartridges,,, and your intended uses of what your after OP,,, That's what really counts in the end...

The one thing that a person does need to be aware of, is that the monometal bullets should be seated for a longer than normal jump to the lands, seating them close to the lands, often results in dramatic pressure increases. I start seating .050" off of the lands as Barnes recommends.

I find that I usually end up seating the bullets between .040" and .070" off of the lands.

FWIW, the old H450 was the bestest powder I ever tried in a .270Win.

One other thing is do not seat the Barnes TSX to touch rifling. Start about .015 off and experiment either way from there.

Start around .050" off of the lands, much closer can result in pressure spikes, and the accuracy is usually more consistent with a longer jump to the lands.

Oh how I miss that powder. Was great with 150gr Partitions in the 'ol 270
