Default Restricted

Good afternoon all. Sitting at home doing the social distancing thing and found my test paper from my original firearms test way back when. Was considering taking the restricted test but I have a question. I took this test when the new possession and acquisition licences came out. I ended up challenging the test at a local gun show. The written a d practical test I took had both long gun an d handgun questions. My copy of the test form shows neither restricted or non restricted on it. A y one have an idea if I indeed need to redo the test. TIA

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that if the test doesn't say "Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course" you will have to take the course. And the non-restricted course is just called "Canadian Firearms Safety Course".

is there an expiry date to when they accept the test like 2 or 3 years for it to be valid. does the rcmp website or firearms centre website help or did you not check there first?

From the RCMP website

Quote:
To get a Possession and Acquisition Licence for restricted or prohibited firearms, you must have passed two safety courses: the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC). Complete Box 20 b) if this applies to you. Note: If you passed the CFSC before February 1, 1999 you are considered to have met both these requirements.
