I finally got everything together and got some half decent video. Of course the last 2 trips with clear water and awesome strikes didn’t record properly.
This is 3 different pike from Eagle lake. I was messing with them a couple times wanting an aggressive strike, lol.

That one was the one who slowly swam by, then bolted along the bottom, stirring up silt bigtime.

This is the lazy striker.

I had one Pike sit just under the surface at one of my holes. I could have grabbed him, but it took me a second to register it. He did strike my lure when I brought it up to his level, but he got off soon after.

I’ve seen how the water in a hole warms a column that goes down 10-15 feet. I’m sure he was enjoying the warm up. I’ve noticed a few Pike just under the ice this year. More so than I have in the past.

Did you drive on? How was the ice? I haven't been out there yet this year, and am really excited to explore the lake now that I have a truck...

Ya we’ve been driving on for a few weeks now. It is 15.5 in and will grow with this weather coming.

The group of shacks isn’t where they usually are this year. Most people have been fishing the seam from the launch and south around a quarter mile. I still go half way to the point from the launch, only this year I’m more south than 95% of everyone. Which is better for me, lol.

Walleye bite is slow and weak still. Pike have been active though. The water is a bit clearer than its average pea-soup. I’m seeing a lot more shrimp than usual so far, with fewer boatmen.

Thanks man. It’s a shame my last 2 trips didn’t record properly. Eagle is the last place you want to show off camera footage.

For some reason the quality and size are better when viewed in YouTube directly as opposed to the embedded player / viewer.

I’ll have much more to come. I’m going to build my own camera system with a low light camera of way better quality than any of the retail systems come with. I plan to have 2 cameras, one low light, one with as good a quality as I can afford for day. Low light cameras sacrifice some aspects, and really low lux sensors might not do that well in bright conditions.
