Stag Arms 10
Well Stag Arms came out with another NR AR10-type rifle last night.
Will be much better quality than the BCL 102, and they have a whole bunch of different options ready to ship mid-July.
I ordered a receiver set so i can build a 6.5 Creedmore hunting rifle.
I will probably take the parts off my BCL and sell it.
Anyone else see these?

How do you know this? Because the 102 is so bad this has to be better, you've seen a review, you've handled one, you've assumed due to the parts list, etc.?

Because Stag is an established manufacturer with a reputation for quality who would do proper R&D, testing and quality control and any necessary re-engineering before releasing a product, this would starkly contrast the BCL 102. The BCL 102 got rushed because they wanted to submit it for the FRT and that wait is considerable, a business wants to recover its capital ASAP and waiting on the RCMP Firearms lab ruling is not conducive to raking in those profits. That rush to submit is what made the product suffer. A US manufacturer does not have the worry of a 1 to 2 year approval wait so instead they can concentrate on getting the product right. Another thing with Stag is that they could already be selling the units in the US while waiting for our market to open. Perhaps it might qualify for the obtusely-legislated California market?

because stag arms has a reputation of high quality and good QC. NEA/BCL has been plagued with this forever, and my BCL 102 is no exception.
the Stag-10 rifles are made out of T6 7075 forged aluminum and type 3 hard coat anodized.
they shouldnt have machine marks and look like a 12 year old rattle canned them in his garage.

Ahh, I was not aware of this.
I though Stag was on the cheaper end of the spectrum and that, combined with their relative inexperience of manufacturing AR-10s and some reviews of the .308 that have mentioned quality issues with the vast majority having some sort of caveat of "...great gun, for the budget minded shooter", would cause some to be disappointed.

I think Stag doesn’t get the respect it deserves. When I bought my first Stag AR over a decade ago I recall reading an article reviewing their 24” barrel varminter model, the article noted that Stag manufactured more internal components in-house than many manufacturers, a nice touch rather than simply purchasing their internal components. I’ve had two Stags previously and liked them both (I wound up with that heavy-barrelled varminter too).
Go to Stag’s website and note the unique things they offer, such as left hand pattern rifles (to my knowledge the first to do so for Ar-15’s) and nickel-boron plated bolt carrier groups in right hand and left hand, or chrome too if you prefer. They also have an infinite shot barrel guarantee, not something most casual shooters would need but cool nonetheless. Scroll through their website and take note of the wide variety they offer. I just recently got a shorty upper of theirs with a PCF handguard and a nickel boron bcg, though I’ve not got a lower receiver for that build yet so it’s still unfired, it’s nicely built though: no machining or tooling marks, good anodizing and fitment. I think they represent excellent value & better quality than one might expect for the price point.

I have a LH Stag AR15. It works great and never had a fte or ftf. I shot it side by side my xcrl and the stag had way smaller groups. Just too bad it can’t be my coyote gun.

Ordered a custom McGowen barrel for the Stag 10.
19” stainless, lightweight, fluted, threaded, 0.75” gas block in 6.5 Creedmoor 1:8 twist.

I will definitely be getting one when I have the funds, most likely in 6.5 Creedmore. I will be mounting a S&B 3-20×50 on it.

I had a 102, swapped all the important parts like barrel gas block bcg buffer assembly and trigger and it shot awesome. Once I heard about the Stag I swapped all the factory parts back and sold it. The 102 is only good if you swap everything but the receivers imo. Stag receivers should be shipping starting today from AE

There’s my build. Should be under 9lbs. It’s going to be my hunting rig possibly this January. 143gr ELD-X should work nicely.

Nice build!
Mine isn't as costly or as light as yours but here it is
Barrel: Armalite AR10T heavy 1:10 .308win SS
BCG: Armalite AR10T (yeah I butchered an AR10 for this)
Gas block: SLR adjustable (I think RDSC carries them) or backup Armalite SASS adjustable
Gas tube: whatever RDSC carries that's rifle length and black
Scope: TBD
Grip: Magpul MOE K
Stock: either A2 or MOE K
Handguard: Midwest Industries MLOK 15"
Muzzle device: currently SS thread protector but I'd like a Surefire warcomp.
Charge handle: radian raptor tungsten grey
I have a boatload of hornady superformance 150gr sst so I'm gonna shoot those to begin with.

If any of you have the time, I sure would like to see a range report... with pics, of course.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much does your build cost?

They are both great for different reasons and have different strengths.
308 higher up front energy, not great long range
6.5CM great ballistics, velocity efficiency and lower recoil.

308 if you want a good caliber for hunting any game out to 300, and shooting cheap ammo
6.5 for better long range trajectory and a little less recoil.

I picked up a 308 GI model today. I put about 50 rds of Norinco surplus thru it, not a single problem. At 100m I got a 2 moa group. I already have a BSF 6.5 barrel and Brigand hand guard when I get the rest of my parts I will build a 6.5 upper.

Just a tad shy of 9lbs on a cheap CT fish scale. It feels much better balanced than my RA XCR-M quad rail hb.

Is that 9 pound weight naked or with some accessories/optics added

That was naked. Keep in mind my cheap scale is quite possibly out +/- a half pound.

No worries. It is similar weight to a naked m1a. But the weight would be further back on the stag, and it already has the rail integrated to mount optics on.

I was looking at a Stag 10 308 yesterday with the 18.7” barrel. It was balanced nice and didn’t feel overly heavy. I wouldn’t mind one chambered in 243.

Why am I seeing thread after thread on cgn talking about the many problems with the new Stag? Short stroking, ejection issues, mag issues, feeding issues, fit and finish issues, trigger issues, gas block issues, barrel issues,..etc, etc....
I'm all for another non-restricted semi AR style rifle but gee wiz, nothing but issues with the new platform.

Could be a lot of things.
Self loaded ammo with wrong speed of powder to work the gas system. Poor choices of aftermarket parts. Wrong weight of ammo. Self loaded ammo that doesnt chamber well. Maybe the users dont know how to properly seat the magazine. Who knows who these people are and what scenario they are putting their gun in.
