I'm pretty vanilla. I have a dozen or so long guns, from 22 LR and 17 HMR, up to 300 WM...with restricted and non 223, 22-250, 7mm08 and 7mm RM filling it out. Got the bases covered. Can't imagine what other rifle I would need (though I do keep contemplating a Marlin Guide gun in 45-70, just because!)
For a '21st' gun, something very novel... I scored a S&W Model 657 in 41 Magnum. Very cool. And not vanilla.

I think you need a 358win, or 35 Whelen. Perhaps both....

M1 Garand, when I first got in to hunting and guns they were relatively cheap could pick up a nice shooter grade for about $400bucks. This is in the mid 90’s. Then after afew good WW2 war movies came out like “The Thin Red Line and Saving Private Ryan”. The price of an M1 jumped to well over $1000. Now if you can find one expect to pay $1800 or more.
I don’t know how I made it through life with out shooting one for so long. Seriously they are the best shooting rifle I ever shot. I think it’s something to do with the 10lbs of forged steel and wood. It’s kind of like shooting a telephone pole, surprisingly accurate and forgiving to shoot.

Unfortunately, carrying one around all day hunting is also like carrying a telephone pole.

I've got 204 ruger,223, 243 win, 257 wby, 26 nos, 7mm08, 30-06, 338wm,338rum and 358 utm, 45-70. I'm not a big fan of 30 cal mags but I'm thinking my next rifle will be in 28 nosler or 30 nosler

Have most of what's listed. Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I'd like to build a custom Win M70 Stainless Classic in 300H&H & 358STA.
A few neat cal's I have are 358 Norma Mag, 7x64's, 8x68s, bunch of 7x57's, bunch of 40+ cal's

I never noticed if you said what you mainly use your guns for wether its for hunting, targets or just plinking. In my mind that list needs a fun plinking gun in like 44 mag or 357 as well as a big bore like a 375 or 416. Maybe a 300 Norma for long range?

I would add a 300 Win Mag set up for the 215 Berger. Impressive numbers as far as ft-lbs and drift is concerned. Or I would add a smaller 6.5 for dual purpose hunting and target. My vote goes to the 6.5X47. Mine with a 130 Berger holds enough velocity and energy for deer size game out to 750 yds. All that with basically zero recoil and a cartridge that is super easy to find a load for. My 300 Win Mag was also very easy to load for. 15 rounds and load development was done! Would of taken even less if I hadn't started with such a low powder charge.

That 358 utm should be a little hotter then the sta.
Most of my guns are hunting guns. I have often thought that a 303 Brit might be handy for a tractor gun. You know the kind that I can use for a draw pin, snipe, hammer. Kinda like a Saskatchewan all size or a Newfie tumbwench but a rifle.
In all reality I’m not sure I’ll run out and get another rifle anytime soon unless it is a screaming deal. There is a lot of redundancy in my arsenal that I think after stepping back and looking I find that unless I go big as in up in the 40 and 50 cals there’s not much else I need other then to sell a few I’ve got.

I think you need a short mag in the collection.
