Looking to head out Friday for whitefish. Never fished this lake so anyone tips or tricks would be appreciated. Taking 5 kids under the age of 10 to try and catch there first whitefish under the ice.

Fished there a week ago... 5 of us for about 6 hrs. All that was caught was 1 small pike. Fished from 2 - 16 ft of water... none of us even seen a whitefish.
Not sure but maybe their in deeper water???

You may have better luck letting them fish from above the ice, this comes with an added bonus of catching a lot less grief from your wife and law enforcement. We aren't baiting alligators here.
