Default Litterbugs caught Red-handed

Great site -hope you've got room for 1 more

I was coming back from a day hunt in the Southern Rockies near Canmore. I pulled to the side of the road to lock and case my rifle, stow gear for the trip into Calgary. It was sunset and the view towards the mountains was spectacular. I was sitting on the fender of my car thinking about how great of a hunt it was (although not successful) when a 5-ton van pulls over at the side of the on-ramp. It's a company truck with the name and phone number in huge letters on the side. The passenger door opens and a bag of garbage comes sailing out; hits the grass and rolls down the embankment. Next, I see beer bottles come flying out, I estimate 4 of them.

It's confrontation time I bino the company name and number, write it down; jump in my car, but I see they have punched it and are down the highway. Pulled over on the ramp, I see 4 Moosehead bottles and the trash bag from a fast food joint. So, I call the company. I ask for the owner, the lady says she was part-owner. It goes like this.

"Does your company promote littering on Alberta highways"
"No, ofcourse not!"
"Does your company promote drinking and driving in company vehicles"?
"No, that would be bad, who is this"?

I tell her the story and she ackknowledges they did have a truck in that area and she would deal with it. I have never dropped a dime on anyone, but this was over the top.

I tried that to a big van driving like an idiot on Deerfoot. It had one of those "how's my driving" stickers on it with the number.
So I called it. Turns out, the number was forwarded to the phone in the truck.
The guy just laughed at me and sped off. I couldn't (or wouldn't) get along side him to get the company name.

Good for you for busting him. I wish more people would.

BTW, sorry about the crappy name.

At least we can hope it was a clean break

Hey 3C (I just don't have it in me to call ya coiler like that mean 'ol Walleyes! ) good on ya and welcome.

Definately make a follow up call on this to find out what the consequences (if any) were. If you are not given an answer that satisifies you, please post up the name of the company and the number. I'd love to give 'em a call and inquire about their policies.

Cordur, I got your back!

BTW, I am STILL trying to get an answer out of Monte Hummel and the WWF about him personally writing me that they are NOT an anti-hunting organization! I've been sending 'em daily for MONTHS now!
