Ruffy hunt turned wolf shoot
Took my nephew out with me for a day of chicken hunting on Saturday to try and see if he would enjoy the experience. I thought I'd bring the rifle along just in case and I'm glad I did. We only saw one chicken the whole day but as we got into one particular area I like to go for chickens I saw a glimpse of white moving out across a clearcut. Quickly recognizing what it was I grabbed my rifle, got him in the scope and pulled the trigger. I ended up putting another bullet into him to speed his demise but was more than happy when I walked up to this guy. I knew there were a lot of wolves in the area because of all the sign I have been seeing lately and the loads of them I've been seeing on my trail cam but this was the first guy I got a chance at so far. Needless to say, my nephew was jacked after the whole experience and considers himself a genuine wolf hunter now. It was a great first time for him out hunting and it'll be a good story for him to be able to go tell his friends.

Good thing you decided to bring rifle along. Must have been exciting for you and esp. for your nephew. Congrats on a great trophy. Lots of threads this year from members who shot a wolf while hunting something else.
I too am curious which WMU.

Thanks everyone. This pup was hiding out somewhere in 356. Think I'm gonna get him rugged. That being said, anyone that has any recommendations on a good taxidermist I'm all ears!

Good work!!! nice wolf. Looks like he spent more time talking than he did listening. A few knowledge scars on his face.

Congrats. Cool wolf.
