Default 150 ... 170 in 30-30

Just wondering what most people use in 30-30? I have one box of 170s and was gonna buy a second one today but there were only 150s left in federal for 24.99 so price was good and decided to buy. Looking it up, apparently both will drop deer. Just wondering if anyone has experience with both and what your thoughts are for each? Any feedback is appreciated.

When I had my marlin 336 I used both for target and luckily had same poi at 100 yards . I only hunted with 170s but 150s would be fine too. I just like the heavy bullets. Only shot a deer and a bear.
Deer broadside 135 yards. Bang flop with an exit. No bullet recovery
Bear 15 yards in the trail and wouldn’t get off. One of those too curious ones. So 170 grains in the neck at the base of his skull worked just fine. He had his head down huffing and puffing and that’s how he fell. No bullet recovery.
No qualms with 30-30.
150 or 170.

Either, I like 170gr. personally but I like heavy for caliber in most hunting applications.

especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

I always used 170's in my single shot 30/30's I owned.

I used Win SP 150gn because this was only I could find at wholesale and BassPro did not not have them at all. Killed a WT with them at +/-60yd. Never had a chance to test heavier than that.
