It sure looks like there are a few people holding out with high priorities. i am in the same boat and have been following these threads. So is Wainright a lost cause for moose all together or is it that the trophy moose( 50"+) are few and far between?

From what I have seen Wainwright still has plenty of moose,but they have been picked over more with more tags being issued.

I am also in the same boat and from what I hear there is not many killed over 50" in Wainright anymore.I think killing a 40" plus is a more reasonable goal now for on the base.

I still remember a few years ago we were in there hunting deer and saw a group of bulls laying in a flat. 2 we thought were pushing 50",1 was in the 50s and the other was pretty damn close to 60".Still the biggest bull I have ever seen in the wild.
