AFGA Awards Banquet, anyone going?
I guess I am, got a letter that I won the Mountain Goat category, and they were nice enough to send me a couple of tickets to go! So I know what I'm doing on the 25th, I'm sure I'll see some familiar faces there, and maybe meet some new ones, make sure to say hi if you're there!
AFGA has space blocked at the Ramada - 11834 Kingsway - good hotel?

Congrats on the goat award!! I won the wolf category a couple of years ago. We went and had a really good time at the banquet.

Went to the banquet Saturday night along with my brother. I've never been to the awards banquet before and quite liked it. Supper was great (the folks at the Polish club put on a good feed) Some good speeches by the AFGA execs, the awards ceremony was good, I met some good folks, had the pleasure of shaking fisherGord's hand, meant to say hi to JR but missed him. Had a good chat with the elk winner (387 net - wow what an elk!). Got to sit down with fisherGord and Jack Graham for a few minutes and listen to Jack tell a couple stories.
I hope to get back to the awards again, kudo's to the AFGA for putting this on, it was their 46th annual awards, nice job!

No... he didn't have the rack there, he had pics of it on his phone we looked at, grossed over 400, gotta love an elk like that...

Any one can go!
This Banquet is open to any one. You don't have to win a category to go. The different AFGA Clubs in the Province sponser the trophys. Fort Saskatchewan Fish and Game had the Grizzly Bear Trophy till SRD pulled the Hunt. You don't even need to be a member of a Fish and Game Club but it helps.

Does anyone have the information on what was tops for each category and where they were taken? Im always interested to see how big the animals were and where they were taken. I have looked on the AFGA website but they only have up to and including 2007 and not 2008 yet.
